Imaging Tumor Heterogeneity and the Variations in Nanoparticle Accumulation Using Perfluorooctyl Bromide Nanocapsule X‐Ray Computed Tomography Contrast (Adv. Therap. 8/2022)

چکیده

Clinical applications of cancer nanomedicines have been challenged by tumor heterogeneity and patient variation. CT imaging nanoparticle extravasation into solid tumors upon intravenous administration, enabled this novel contrast, provides critical insights on characteristics potential for disposition drug delivery prior to treatment. This is reported Xiuling Lu co-workers in article number 2200047.

Preparation and Characterization of Novel Perfluorooctyl Bromide Nanoparticle as Ultrasound Contrast Agent via Layer-by-Layer Self-Assembly for Folate-Receptor-Mediated Tumor Imaging

A folate-polyethylene glycol-chitosan derivative was synthesized and its structure was characterized. An optimal perfluorooctyl bromide nanocore template was obtained via utilizing the ultrasonic emulsification method combining with orthogonal design. The targeted nanoparticles containing targeted shell of folate-polyethylene glycol-chitosan derivative and perfluorooctyl bromide nanocore templa...

Atherosclerotic plaque imaging using phase-contrast X-ray computed tomography.

Reliable, noninvasive imaging modalities to characterize plaque components are clinically desirable for detecting unstable coronary plaques, which cause acute coronary syndrome. Although recent clinical developments in computed tomography (CT) have enabled the visualization of luminal narrowing and calcified plaques in coronary arteries, the identification of noncalcified plaque components rema...

A Protease-Activatable Nanoparticle Contrast Agent for Molecular Imaging by Dual Energy Computed Tomography

Jeffrey Ashton1, Cristian Badea2, Jennifer West1 1Duke University, Biomedical Engineering Department 2Duke University Medical Center, Department of Radiology Statement of Purpose: X-ray computed tomography (CT) is one of the most useful imaging tools for modern clinicians. However, molecular imaging with CT is not feasible with existing contrast agents, so clinicians must instead rely on other ...

heterogeneity within the orientalist discourse: representation of the orient in womens travelogues and mens paintings

from 1950s onward, new theories and critical approaches burgeoned across humanities. these theories were context-oriented; as a result, the analysis of discursive practices gained significance. thus, social, political, historical and cultural discourses that have been hitherto marginalized and considered inferior to literary texts, were introduced as important texts to be analyzed by critics. o...

Contrast-enhanced cranial computed tomography in magnetic resonance imaging era.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the usefulness of intravenous contrast administration in cranial computed tomography (CT) in a general hospital with a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) facility, and to establish a protocol to determine which patients would benefit most from using contrast-enhanced cranial CT. SUBJECTS AND METHODS Five hundred and forty-seven patients who underwent routine nonenhanced CT...
